Backflow Prevention Assembly

To meet State requirements, the Department of Health and Environmental Control has partnered with RPZ Flow Backflow Data Solutions (RPZ Flow) to manage the City’s inventory of backflow-prevention assemblies and associated testing records.

FINDING YOUR BACKFLOW PREVENTION ASSEMBLIES

 

To access information about the backflow prevention assemblies registered to your property, locate your Location ID (LID) by searching for your property.

Navigate to RPZ Flow and enter your LID in the Water Customer search box. 

Registration is not required to view backflow prevention assembly information. However, you must register with RPZ Flow to access backflow prevention assembly test reports.

ANNUAL TESTING REQUIREMENTS

 All backflow prevention assemblies must be tested annually between January 1st and March 31st

  • Certified testers must register and submit test results online through RPZ Flow.
    • There is no fee to establish a profile or to submit reports in RPZ Flow. 
  • Failed devices must be repaired or replaced and retested.
    • A permit from the Public Works Department is required prior to replacing any device.
BACKFLOW TESTER REQUIREMENTS
  1.  Hold current certification from an organization recognized by the California State Water Resources Control Board.
  2. The test gauge must have a current calibration certification.
