Elected to the Vernon City Council in April of 2026, Council Member Monica Rodriguez lives and works in the City of Vernon and understands the importance of balancing residential quality of life with a strong local economy. She is excited to make a positive impact by serving in the capacity of Council Member, advocating for the unique Vernon community that she knows and loves.

Council Member Rodriguez is a proud mother to two successful adult children, and she and her family have called Vernon home for 13 years. Council Member Rodriguez believes in the values of hard work, service, and integrity – principles that have guided her involvement in Vernon initiatives and strategic planning efforts throughout her years as a resident of the City. She understands firsthand how City priorities, programs, and policy decisions affect residents and businesses alike. 

Council Member Rodriguez represents the City on regional boards including the County of Los Angeles Sanitation District No. 23 and local boards including the Vernon Board of Library Trustees and the Vernon Housing Commission.

Council Member Rodriguez is committed to upholding continued progress in Vernon as a proponent for community support, economic growth, and good governance. 

Council Member Rodriguez received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an option in Accounting from California State University, Los Angeles and is currently an Accounting Manager at a local business where she has worked for 25 years.
