Vernon Local Appointments

The City of Vernon is dedicated to a public-private partnership.  As such, many of our Commissions and Committees are comprised of outside representatives. The Local Appointments List provides current members and term dates for all City Commissions and Committees.  This notice is provided in compliance with the Maddy Act, Government Code Section 54970 et seq.

Vernon Inviting Applications to Serve on City Commissions/Committees

The City of Vernon is currently inviting applications to those interested in an opportunity to serve on the following Boards/Commissions/Committees. Applications are being accepted through May 13,2026.

To apply for a City Commission or Committee, submit an Application to the City Clerk Department. 

Business and Industry Commission

• Two (2) Business Representatives - Terms through June 2030
• One (1) Real Estate Representative - Term through June 2030
• One (1) Employee/Labor Representative - Term through June 2030

Vernon CommUNITY Fund Grant Committee

• One (1) Business Representative - Term through June 2030
• One (1) Vernon Area Representative -Term through June 30, 2030
• One (1) Vernon Area Representative -  Partial Term through June 30, 2029

Green Vernon Commission

• Two (2) Business Representatives - Terms through June 2030
• One Environmental Representative - Term through June 2030
