COLLECTION SYSTEM 

All commerical businesses, multi-family dwellings, and single-family dwellings are required to enroll in mandatory solid waste collection systems to divert organics and recyclables from landfills. 

Effective January 1, 2023, franchise solid waste haulers will enroll businesses and residents in the City’s mandatory two-container or optional three-container solid waste collection systems. (CITY NOTICE) 

• The mandatory two-container collection system requires residents, and business operators/tenants to separate materials in blue and gray containers.  The two-container collection system does not require source separation of organics. (MANDATORY TWO CONTAINER COLLECTION SYSTEM)

• The optional three-container system requires residents and business operators to separate materials in gray, blue, and green containers. The three-container system requires operators to source separate organics. (OPTIONAL THREE CONTAINER COLLECTION SYSTEM)

EDIBLE FOOD RECOVERY PROGRAM 

Commerical edible food generators must recover the maximum amount of edible food that would otherwise be disposed of and donate it to a food recovery service(s) and/or organization(s). (CITY NOTICE)
