Council Member Crystal Larios was elected to the Vernon City Council in June 2021 to serve in an unexpired term and was elected to serve her first full five-year term in Office in April 2024.  Her term in office expires in April 2029.  As a public official of the City, Council Member Larios is committed to leading with honesty and compassion and serving as a faithful advocate of Vernon’s residents while maintaining their trust in the City’s government.

A native of the Southeast Los Angeles region, she is familiar with the socio-economic plight faced by many of the families that reside in the area and hopes to assist and uplift Vernon’s residential community to its highest potential.  Council Member Larios values the economic benefits and opportunity that businesses represent and supports the City’s pursuit of more balanced land uses and clean commerce.  She envisions the development of clean businesses as a way to bolster the City’s economic future while better serving the environment and community.

Council Member Larios prides herself on being an independent thinker who will work alongside her fellow Council Members to set policies that will guide management in the pursuit of a brighter future for the City.  She appreciates the opportunity to give back and aspires to instill a sense of community and pride in Vernon’s residents and businesses for many years to come.

Council Member Larios represents the City on the Board of Directors for Los Angeles County Sanitation District 23 and other regional boards including the Gateway Cities Council of Governments.

Council Member Larios received a Bachelor of Science in Society and Environment with a concentration in U.S. Environmental Policy and Management from the esteemed University of California, Berkley and is currently a Principal Contract Administrator for professional services and goods at the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro).
