Why make the switch to an Electric Vehicle (EV)?

  • Cost Savings: EVs requires less maintenance compared to its conventional gasoline engine counterparts, the costs to fuel (charge) an EV is also less than the cost of gasoline.
  • Cleaner: EVs have no tailpipe emissions, which improves local air quality. The electricity used to power your vehicle is also increasingly cleaner, with more renewable resources being added to the power mix.
  • Convenience: EVs can be charged in the convenience of your own home, or at the workplace. Vernon Public Utilities (VPU) continues to expand its publicly available EV charging infrastructure while offering incentives for residents and businesses to make the switch.
