Vernon Public Utilities will be home to several charging depots that serve electrified fleets of  heavy-duty freight transport vehicles. Due to Vernon's proximity to major interstate freeways and port locations, the City is a strategic partner driving innovation towards a greener future. 

As a public power provider, VPU is committed to doing its part to support a regional network of charging infrastructure near major ports and freight routes as a means to reach zer0-emission mandates and streamline the transition to heavy-duty electric vehicle (EV) trucking.
